Yoga: After the Office

Another long day of sitting and typing in an office chair? Running around to get things done and losing your sense of grounding? Imbalanced and repetitive movements in the consistent choreography of work life can take a toll on our alignment and distribution of energy. It can lead to a feeling of exhaustion from seemingly small actions. When our attention is concentrated in the mind it will concentrate into certain parts of the body. If neglected this can cause dis-ease and tension to build in areas of the body that become unbearable issues.

I'm sure many of you suffer from sciatica and I'm sure it's no mystery why. Instead of flopping on the couch when you get home or rushing off to attend to another list of after work errands, take a few minutes to reset your alignment and settle the mind to bring some relief and prepare you for more efficient energy disbursement.

In this practice I offer a relaxing intro to soothe the mind and energetic layers then move into some right brain-left brain movement to gather up the energy and bring it all together for integration with easy core and nervous system work. The right brain-left brain exercises are wonderful for equalizing the mind and body. This will take the pressure off the areas you've overstressed in the daily grind by moving attention (tension) throughout the body to more easily dissolve and lessen your density.
